Hello, I'm trying to transfer a linaro panda image on a sd memory card following this [instructions][1] I have an ubuntu 11.10 on a x64 CPU. when I run the image tools:

sudo ./linaro-image-tools-0.4.8/linaro-android-media-create --mmc /dev/sdb --dev panda --system system.tar.bz2 --userdata userdata.tar.bz2 --boot boot.tar.bz2

I get this long errror (sorry for pasting):

My HDD is a massive 500 GB drive and I have plenty of space on the SD CARD 8 GB (tried both a SanDisk and Trascend). What the problem could be?

Hi,

It's your /tmp partition that looks full. It is likely that your root partition is full (where /tmp is usual put if you haven't made any change in /etc/fstab).

Running 'df -h' will confirm this.

A quick tip for saving space: sudo apt-get clean (removes package files after they are installed).

If this isn't enough, you will have to remove some packages that you don't need.

Hope this helps,

Cheers,

Michael.

Hello Michael, you right although I had a fresh install and plenty of space (free 140 GB) the tmp partition was somehow limited (weird). After deleting everything it worked just fine. Thanks a lot for the tip.

Hi Robo,

Glad to know that it worked. /tmp usually belongs to the root partition, which is often different from the home (data) partition. Because of this, your root partition can be full, even if you have plenty of space left on your disk!
